Beer tasting - Kanavan Panimo

Every last Friday of the month, we organize a beer tasting where we explore the beer selection of a guest brewery! The first in line is Kanavan Panimo, and you'll have the opportunity to get to know with their products on Friday, January 26th.

EXPLORE THE BREWERY - KANAVAN PANIMO

Kanavan Panimo started its operations in the spring of 2016 in the heart of Old Vääksy, right by Vääksy Canal. The brewery is located in a charming old dairy, which also houses a shop and a terrace. Leading the show are the Karlstedt brothers, Jukka and Jani (but pals call him Janski), who've been around the block in the beer and restaurant biz for quite a while

Currently, Kanavan Panimo has over 15 products in production. In addition to traditional beers, the brewery also produces sour beers, where the wort is fermented, and then turned into beer.

"When selecting ingredients, we always aim to choose locally produced whenever possible. Soulful and meaningful craftsmanship is at the core of everything, and the consistent quality of our beers has received a lot of positive feedback," the brothers say.

Kanavan Panimo has successfully established itself as a noble representative of Finnish craft beers in relatively short time. Their brews keep grabbing prizes at different contests. Like, Paljas Saari snagged the title for Best Finnish Sour Beer in 2018, and Toivo Red Ale aced the dark ale category in the same competition in 2019.

At Draft's beer tasting, we will explore the following beers:

- Sato - Fest Lager 5.0%

- Maltti – Peat Smoked Ale 4.7%

- Toivo Red Ale 5.5%

- Aava - Belgian IPA 6.0%

- Jalo - Wheat Sour 6.0%

- Ariana - Imperial Gose 6.5%

- Motti - Caramel Stout 6.8%
